My Family Trees
Despite the plethora of family tree software that is available, I have not come across a program that totally meets my needs as far as tree diagrams are concerned. Therefore, to produce the trees on this site I used Microsoft Power Point, and saved the finished diagrams as .pdf files. (If you don't already have Adobe Reader you can download it for free here.)
One advantage of the tree diagrams I have produced is the ease of which they can be printed on a A4 piece of paper (or even A3 if you are lucky enough to have access to a suitable printer) Just select the 'Scale to Page' option in the 'Print' window. Please note: Due to the size of the KITCHER tree (it is a whopping 4'17" long!) it is difficult to read on a A4 sheet without a magnifying glass - I will try to amend the dimensions ASAP. I suggest you stick to looking at it on the screen for now.
I have included just a small selection of family tree drawings, more will be added over the coming months. If you think you may be connected to any one of these families, why not get in touch? I have lots of information I would love to share, and in most cases I have also researched the families of the brothers and sisters of my direct ancestors .
The FordhamsMy Fordham line originated in Cambridgeshire, where the family had close links with the local horse trade. Two of the sons moved to Sussex, and I believe that most of the Fordhams found living in Sussex today are descended from those two men.
The KitchersMy Kitcher line originated in the New Forest, in Hampshire. However, my grandfather was stationed in Yorkshire for a short period of time during the Second World War and that is where he decided to live and raise his family.
The StanfordsOriginating in Kent, my Stanford line moved to Sussex in about 1645. The HobdensMy Hobden line can be traced back to the marriage of Adam Hobden and Margaret Walker in 1595, in Alfriston, in Sussex. The Hobdens married into the Stanfords in 1758, when Susannah Hobden married Edward Stanford at Lindfield, in Sussex.
The Geeres - Coming Soon!My Geere line has its roots in Wivelsfield in Sussex. Whilst I have yet to find their marriage, John Geere and his wife, Joane, had six children together. My ancestor, their son Thomas, was born in 1559.
